Upper Cumberland Medical Reserve Corps
Neighbors with medical and non-medical skills who are ready to help their communities before and during public-health emergencies.
The Upper Cumberland TN Regional MRC organizes volunteers with many kinds of skills and credentials. Volunteers help strengthen the public health workforce during emergencies and preparedness activities.
Medical volunteers may help with medication or immunization activities. Support volunteers may assist with registration, wayfinding, forms, and other response-team tasks. Everyone brings useful experience, and volunteers prepare alongside local public-health and response partners.
The Upper Cumberland Regional Health Department began recruiting public-health emergency volunteers in 2002. The group joined the Medical Reserve Corps in 2007 and continues to prepare for infectious disease, severe weather, floods, radiological events, and other emergencies.
